About Exploration17

Doors That Run Forty Times a Day

Exploration17 works on commercial doors across Long Beach and the surrounding industrial districts. Roll up shutters on light industrial units, sectional doors on workshops, and the operators and safety gear that go with them. We are on Redondo Ave in the 90815 ZIP.

The reason commercial work is a separate discipline comes down to one number. A house door runs about four cycles a day. A unit with deliveries, staff vehicles and customer access can run forty. Every wearing part on that door is accumulating damage ten times faster.

Apply a residential service interval to a door like that and you are not maintaining it, you are counting down to a failure.

What We Do Differently

We ask for the cycle count first. Roughly how many times does the door run in a working day. That single answer drives the service interval, the spring specification, and whether a contract makes sense for you.

We diagnose operators before replacing them. An operator that keeps tripping is usually protecting itself from something mechanical: a binding guide, a tired spring, a door out of square. Fit a new operator without finding that and you get a new operator failing the same way.

We leave a written condition report. So a recurtain or a spring set is a budgeted item rather than a surprise invoice.

On Downtime

The repair bill is rarely the expensive part of a commercial door failure. What costs is the morning nobody could ship, or the day the unit could not open.

That is the honest argument for planned service. We will also tell you when a contract is not worth it for a low-use door, because selling one to a business that does not need it is a short conversation and a lost customer.
